Since our early days with a couple of stand-up coffee bars in the gritty back alleys of Melbourne, we've been on the hustle for better-tasting, more decadent drinking chocolate.
And not just any half-assed sugary, packed with junk drinking chocolate.
But the nourishing, wholesome, not overly processed gutsy kind.
And we've created it.
What started as a simple plan to buy cocoa direct became complex when our attention focused on where our cocoa beans would be processed, as few facilities offer the expertise and equipment to gently roast - no more than 138C - and then press lush, fatty cocoa powder and produce silky chocolate blocks.
Yes, now we work with specialised high-tech cocoa manufacturers at origin to make the ingredient gold that makes everything taste so good.
It's a wild, colourful life we live buying ingredients direct; Fairtrade cocoa from South America and the Caribbean. Sugars come from sun-drenched Paraguay, and the tropical islands of the Philippines. Salt from the Great Lakes in Australia, but we love every minute, and our travel bags are never fully unpacked.

For almost two decades, we have been purchasing cocoa from all over the world while contributing to communities and children in cocoa-growing countries.
We wholeheartedly support the guys behind the Melbourne-based charity I Am Someone, who care for and lift orphaned children out of extreme poverty.
This grassroots charity empowers communities to provide access to life-changing education, shelter, healthcare and nutrition that every kid deserves.
